- Taisinskye recitations, which are organized by the Novgorod Diocese, the Administration of Borovichy, the Monastery of Saint Spirit in commonwealth with Leushinskoe farmstead in Saint Petersburg, already became traditional.

- Suvurovskye recitations are held in museum-manor of the great commander in Konchanskoe-Suvurovskoe, where it is possible also to see a diorama - the huge canvas (17х4m), which realistically reflects original events of those days. Readings involve not only citizens of Borovichy, but also pilgrims from Moscow, Petersburg, Cherepovets, Kronshtadt, Estonia and Finland.

Into the program of the holiday is included horse-riding show with participation of horse-riding clubs of Great Novgorod and Saint Petersburg, riding on horseback, in antique carriage, lessons of riding, and also folk games and entertainments with participation of folklore collectives of the city and region.

The history of this holiday throws back and is connected with names of Flor and Lavr. On August, 31 (by the national calendar) the Day of Saint Flor and Lavr and horses' holiday is celebrated. This day horses were bathed in the river, fed by oats, their manes and tails were decorated with fillets, horses were brought to church, where after the thanksgiving service they were sprinkled by holy water.

Blood brothers Flor and Lavr lived in 2 century in Byzantium and were stonemasons, the builders of temples. By one legend Flor and Lavr were defenders of horses. Once they became witnesses of how the muzhik catted his horse, they came to the defense of it, having told, that they are set by God to protect horses, which, in contrast to people, are toiling all the week long without any rest. It was on August, 31.

By the other legend Flor and Lavr, once digging a well, were accidentally buried under a collapse. Soon from under a collapse the water with healing properties began to exude out: it recovered health of horses.

The Borovichy lands, which are included in the Novgorod Region, have ancient traditions of horse breeding. That's why here annual Horse holiday is held already the second time.
