Almost merging with the city of Chudovo is the village of
Syabrenitsy , which stretches along the superhighway from
Saint Petersburg to Moscow .
In one of the Syabrenitskikh houses from 1881 through 1882
writer and Democrat Gleb Ivanovich Uspenskiy lived with his
family. Now this is the only literary- memorial museum of
this writer in our country.
Some of his best works - "Authority of the Earth",
"Fourth of horse", and "Podgorny the Peasant".
Uspenski imprinted the reliable pictures of the life of Chudovo
peasants and workers, and the agonizing process of moving
the post-reform village to the capitalist track.
In the house there are works of the artist N.A.Yaroshenko,
the writers V. M. Garshin, V. G.Korolenko, N.K.Mikhaylovskiy,
etc. From here the writer left for his numerous journeys through
Russia .
Memorial/literary exhibit was created in 1986 with the use
of memorial and typological objects, depictive and documentary
materials. Of particular interest is the partially preserved
garden. Hours of operation: from 10 to 18, days off- Tuesday,
Sunday; the last Wednesday of each month.
